Westendorf is situated on a sunny plateau in the middle of the Brixen valley, far away from any noisy traffic. The picture-perfect village center with its excellent infrastructure is completely encompassed by mountains and is regarded as a link between Austria's largest connected ski area, the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental and the well-known Ski Area Kitzbühel/Kirchberg.
Not just winter attracts many visitors, summer holidays in Westendorf are very popular due to the wide range of activities. Our natural jewel, the Windau valley, as well as the beautiful surrounding mountains, with peaks of up to 2,400 m (7,800 feet) offer a sheer inexhaustible hiking, mountain-biking and relaxation experience.
Traditional and cultural customs enrich your holiday. On Thursdays the weekly farmers market is the place to be in summer. Festivals as the “Alpenrosenrest” (village festival) in July, “Bergleuchten” (torches enlight the mountains) in August, “Salvenberg-Roas”, “Almabtrieb” in September and various Music Festivals show the cultural life from the region.
